Samsung and some manufacturers, including Google, seems to be heading to the future of a folded telephone. Microsoft too, but has a very different definition of folded. It described the surface duo as a “double screen fold” and did make a pretty good case for it almost two years ago. However, the delivery was absolutely not convincing and it was quite dated even before exiting the door. For those who still hold the torch for the device, the surface of the duo 2 can be proven to be what should be folded by Microsoft’s first double screen, and, based on the latest leakage, it must arrive soon.

Problems with the surface duo more hardware than software. The latter is easier to repair with updates and patches but cellular hardware is not completely replaced after being there. When the surface duo was first announced, it was revealed to use hardware less than recently, even when it was finally launched a year later.

Based on Windows Central information, the 2 surface duo will at least have the latest specifications, at least for 2021. That means the snapdragon 888 is at least and hopefully more RAM too. Single main cameras do not need friends but must be upgraded too.

This, of course, depends on whether the device will actually be sent this year. According to the site, the good news is that it might eventually happen this fall, around September or October. Microsoft has repeatedly delayed the launch of the first surface duo so that even fans had a reason to be carefully optimistic about this timeline.

Time is everything in this business and, unfortunately, the surface duo 2 will not be sent with Android 12 because of that. It is good and well provided Microsoft sends a software version that is more stable and has more than a year to actually get it.
