Introducing KitCodes! KitCodes is a mode designed to get your students moving around the classroom while playing Gimkit. However, there’s a bit of preparation involved.

Print out KitCodes to hang around your classroom. Students will scan these codes to access the shop.

To play KitCodes, you’ll need:

  1. KitCodes printed and displayed around your classroom.
  2. Student devices capable of moving around (laptops, tablets, phones).
  3. Student devices equipped with a camera.

Here’s how KitCodes works:

KitCodes operates similarly to regular Gimkit, but with an exciting twist: students must move around the classroom to shop! When students enter the shop, they won’t be able to choose their upgrades or access powerups directly. Instead, they’ll be prompted to scan a KitCode corresponding to their desired item.

Students will navigate the classroom to find the KitCode for the item they want to purchase, scan it, and voila! They’ll be taken to that section of the shop.

With KitCodes hung up around the class, students will be actively moving around to shop, adding an engaging element to gameplay. It’s also fascinating to observe which items students are interested in during the game!
