AMD finally brought RDNA 2 technology to a notebook. During the Keynote Computex at this time, the company announced Radeon RX 6000m from the cellular GPU. They will bring most of the improvements that we see on the RX 6000 GPU desktop to a laptop: much better power efficiency, faster performance and ray tracing support. The new lineup will be pioneered by the Radeon RX 6800M, which aims to Game 1.440p 5040p Framerate (120fps). Just like on the desktop side, it will immediately target RTX 3080 NVIDIA.
Not surprisingly, AMD also launched the RX 6700M and 6600M model, which will focus on 100fps game 1.440p and 1080p performance, respectively. AMD claims the new GPU offers a speed of 50 percent faster, and the use of power is lower up to 43 percent, compared to previous RDNA GPU. The cards – Radeon 5000m lineup – don’t make a big spark in the game, but are famous for debuting at the Apple End of 2019 MacBook Pro. (It is one of the main reasons for the 16-inch MacBook Pro is a power plant.)
Under the hood, RX 6800M displays 40 computing units and ray accelerators, along with 12GB GDDR6 RAM. It shares the speed of 23GHz game hours with 6700m, but the card has 36 computing units and 10GB of RAM. 6600m entry, meanwhile, sports 28 unit computing and 8GB RAM. The memory interface also scales from 192-bit on upper class cards up to 128-bit at the lower end. From specifications, the new AMD hardware looks like a big leap forward. Previous Radeon 5000m card ended with 36 computing units and 8GB of RAM. (No wonder they never succeeded in becoming a lot of gaming laptops.)
AMD claims Radeon RX 6800M outperformed RTX 3080 Nvidia in the main AAA title such as Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Resident Evil Village. Usually I will take it with a big salt, but I have also tested 6800 m equipped with Asus Rog Strix G15, and I can confirm overperforms 3080 in extreme benchmarks of distance 3DMark. (We will have a complete review of the machine coming soon.) Just like the desktop brother, 6800m left behind from Nvidia hardware at Port Royal Raytracing Benchmark. But hey, at least Ray Tracing is a choice this time.
If you have planned to play games when using batteries, AMD says The 6800M is around 40 percent faster than 3080 when playing resident evil village. Obviously, the game revoked is something that is most often done by players to avoid whenever possible, but happy to know AMD at least think about it. It cannot be imagined that you want to play a little while on a long journey, or flight, without a nearby electric plug.
Now AMD has blistered 5000 CPU Ryzen mobile fast and a strong new GPU, also tries to attract consumers (and PC makers) with a new AMD profit framework. Similar to the Intel Evo branding, this is a way for buyers to know that they get a solid gaming play experience. In particular, AMD Advantage Systems will use the latest Ryzen CPU and Radeon GPU, fast refresh speed display above 144Hz, freesync premium screen for free torn game, and fast NVME drive. Really, it is the type of thing you will look for in a modern game PC, but AMD badges only make it easy to know the minimum you can expect from a new system.
The system equipped with AMD must also perform a little faster than laptops with Ryzen CPU and NVIDIA GPU, thanks to SmartShift technology and Smart Access Company. These features can intelligently balance the power between the CPU and AMD GPU, and also provide direct CPU access to GOBS RAM in the Radeon GPU. The company claims they can lead to an increase in 11 percent at borders 3 and a 10 percent increase in Wolfenstein’s young blood.
